Love Me Today by A.L. Jackson

Paisley is running late for a job interview for a dream job - teaching a little girl to take care of and ride her horse. And of course she backs up into a shiny Range Rover on her way to the interview. The guy was a complete jerk and she’s hoping she’ll never see him again. Except of course he’s the one interviewing her.

Caleb thinks Paisley is completely reckless and not nearly good enough to be around Evelyn. His main focus is always protecting Evelyn, but very quickly Paisley gets under his skin and he wants her for himself, too.

Except there are dangers and secrets lurking. Paisley is ready to give up anything for Caleb and Evelyn but can Caleb do the same?

I have to admit that at the start of this story, I wasn’t sure if it was going to be a hit for me or not. Caleb was arrogant and aggressive and a complete jerk. I know a lot of people like that type of character, but that’s not something I typically enjoy. HOWEVER, you slowly learn about the demons in Caleb’s past and how much his life is ruled by guilt and fear and he *slowly* transforms as the story progresses.

My favorite part about this book was the way the suspense storyline was revealed. I felt like I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, never knowing when there would be a reveal into Caleb’s past or Paisley’s past or when something devastating might happen in the present storyline.

I also really loved the introduction of the other characters in the town and I hope we get to see them again in future books in this series.

If you love romantic suspense, darker (but not TOTALLY DARK) romances, bold heroines, extremely protective heroes and single guardian stores, check this one out!
