Things We Hide From the Light by Lucy Score

This book. 😍 This book is living on my shelf with my all-time favorites. It honestly had everything I want in a story - emotional connection between the main characters (not just physical/lust), humor, action, suspense … I could gush on and on. I’m definitely living in my romantic suspense era, and this definitely hit the mark. I loved book one in this series but Nash Morgan took things to a new level. Nash is still recovering physically and mentally from two gunshot wounds. He is basically just a shell of himself and is questioning his ability to protect his community as Chief of Police when he couldn’t even protect himself. Lina had her own reasons for being in Knockemout for so long and she ends up in the apartment next to Nash.

The forced proximity led to some wonderful caretaking scenes which led to vulnerable late-night conversations which led to SLOW DANCES and I basically just turned into a puddle of goo. But then I was also on the edge of my seat seeing if they could figure out what happened during Nash’s shooting and whether Knockemout can completely rid itself of the threats from book 1.

Also, can we talk about Piper, Nash’s rescued stray turned BFF? Adorable!

I could gush all day but I don’t want to accidentally spoil anything in my excitement so just know that I give this one all the stars!

Have you read this series? Are you planning to? Are you dying for Lucian’s book like I am?
