Glimmers of You by Catherine Cowles

If you love small-town romantic suspense, then I think you'll love any and all of Catherine Cowles' stories. Glimmers of You is part of the Lost & Found series. It follows Grae, the sister of the Holt & Nash (heroes from book 1 & 2), and Caden, Nash's best friend. Grae and Caden had a very special bond growing up. They understood one another in a way that no one else did. But then Grae was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 15 and their entire relationship changed.

Now they're both adults and Caden is back in town running his parent's 5-star resort with his brother. Which means it's impossible for Grae to ignore him and pretend he doesn't exist. And despite wanting to keep his distance, Caden can't help but needle her any time he's near her. They might have lost their closeness as teenagers but they pretty much can't even been in the same room together as adults.

But a persistent ex has Grae fibbing that she's dating Caden as an excuse. And Caden *could* use a steady girlfriend to keep his parents off his back about settling down. But just as their fake relationship begins, so does the danger as someone continually tries to scare and hurt Grae. The suspense in this story was great and the twists and turns even surprised me. I listened to part of the story on audiobook as well and the narrators, some of my favorites, did an amazing job as always.

I typically love fake dating stories because the tension builds as they have to “fake” in front of people and I wish we had gotten that for *a little* longer with Caden and Gras before they opened up about their feelings for one another. But that's me being the slow-burn queen and all. I totally understand why the timing worked the way it did, because it then let them be honest with their feelings through the worst of the suspense. But still, I love a good buildup!

Also, I’m obsessed with this digitally signed overlay from Novel Grounds! I feel like I need one for each book in this series but is that excessive? Let me know!
